So, at first glance, you may see that i have a new picture at the top, and that is the Christian Science Center in Boston. Now, i heard "christian science center" and i got really excited because i thought, hey, maybe this is something i can get on board with! so i go to the website, and apparently, "christian science" has nothing to with science at all, it is simply "the science of christianity" meaning, the story behind beliefs and things like how jesus "scientifically" changed water to wine, multiplied fish and bread, the world was created in 7 days 6,000 years ago blah blah blah... I've been using "quotes" a lot in this post because i feel like they need them, so that no one thinks these are my beliefs in any way. I would love to find a religion that fits in with what i (and common sense) know as truth and that doesn't try and answer the questions we don't know the answers to yet with "you must have faith in what god hasn't revealed" ...i'm tired of that. but anywayyyyy, i'll get off my soapbox and show some pictures.
This one is from the opposite end of the reflecting pool... awesomeeee place to be, beats DC's anyday haha

This one is very important to me... i've been trying to get a lightning shot since i started taking picture, and here in all it's kind-of-visible glory, is my first successfull lightning shot... oh yeahhh haha

This one isn't very different from the others, but it's the ending one, so love it.

cheers yo!

Hi, I came across your blog and really like these pictures of the Christian Science Church Center. I'm a Christian Scientist, so that may have a little to do with it. Also couldn't help noticing your disappointment that Christian Scientists believe the earth was created in 7 days and that "you must have faith in what God hasn't revealed". I'm pleased to let you know that we don't believe either of those things. On the contrary, we believe that one's faith should never be blind, but rather proved in a practical manner in his or her own experience. It's called Christian Science because the founder of the Church, Mary Baker Eddy, discovered that God governs us all with laws that can be practiced, proved, and depended on with the same assurance that one would have in depending on any scientific law. That may sound far-fetched, but the whole point of the religion is that it has to be proven in your daily life. No one is asked to make leaps of faith, and people are really only interested in joining the Church once they prove these laws for themselves. If you want to know more just go pick up a copy of Mrs. Eddy's book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, at any Christian Science Reading Room. Try putting some of what she says into practice and see if you like the results. All the best to you.
First of all, i sincerely apologize if i misrepresented the religion.. that was not my aim. I guess i made a kind of half-hearted attempt to really understand what it was all about. I searched christian science on wikipedia, and after about 10 minutes, i reached my conclusions. i know you left an anonymous comment, and that is completely fine, but i urge you (if you check back on this) to e-mail me. i make it very obvious where to reach me on my contact page. again, i'm sorry to generalize based on opinion, and i sincerely appreciate the comments about the pictures.
